Series of disaster

After i came back from London i have had a pretty busy schedule the last 2 weeks.
The season at my local poker club was coming to an end, so there were 2 weeks with tournaments everyday.
We have a big final every year and you have to win a tournament during the year to qualify.
There are also a few wildcards for players who havent won, but who finished at the top of the leaderboard.
You get points for every final table, and depending on you finished position at the final table you also get extra starting chips for the final.
I have had a terrible run the last 2 weeks and only got 2 final tables with a 2nd and my best result.
This means that on the overall leaderboard i have had to settle with a 7th place.
In the final tournament i was i pretty good shape with 7th most chips as we start, 3.4 million and the chipleader has 10 mil.
I got three wins, five 2nd finishes and x ammount of final tables.
64 players had qualified and average stack was around 1 mil and starting blinds were 4000-2000.
So with my starting stack i was under no preasure for the first 4 hours of the tournament.
I basicly stay pretty passive and just take down some smaller pots and keep my stack around the 3 mil mark.
Then Jeppe Theilmann two seats on my right, who has been pretty aggressive raises again while im in the big blind with 8-8 and he makes it 286.000.
Nothing new here, i havent done any blind defending so far, but the blinds have gone up and its about time to take a stand and start playing.
I think about just pushing, but decide to play the flop and call since i still got 3 mil and the blinds are 50.000-100.000.
The flop comes 8d-5d-js so i hit a set.
Now in this spot i like to just bet out to: 1. build the pot and 2. it dosent look like my hand is super strong.
I would like him to put me on a pair or a steal so he can reraise right away, or i can try a check raise on the turn.
I bet out 300.000 and with not much thinking Jeppe moves all in with the 1.7 mil he got left.
I ask him “did you say all in” to make sure i heard right, and after he confirms i instantly call.
Jeppe is on a pure bluff and flips over As-6d and he now has a 6.68% chance of winning the pot with a runner runner.
qd hits the turn followed by the 4d giving Jeppe a runner runner flush and im down to 1mil.
Hands like these just have to win in order to have a chance to win a tournament.
Its brutal that after 4 hours of keeping a low profile i get maximum payout when i hit the nuts only to get a sick bad beat.
With 10 big blind i survive for around 30min and then i get my 600k all in with j.q suited against a-k but no luck here.
Since this tournament is only played once a year, its a tough beat.
Nothing i havent triead, and will try again but it hurts.
Im glad the season is over now though, so i can get back to “normal” and focus on cash games online for the next months.
I have no plans for live event untill vegas next year.
I expect that the online qualifiers will start in February when the Aussie millions is over.
I might also try and qualify for some of the smaller tournaments in England but for now it will be mainly cash games and online tournaments when i got the time.
